A letter from The Seer by Elizabeth Marx & Giveaway!

Please help me welcome author Elizabeth Marx and The Seer to the blog!

Dear Holly,

We haven’t spoken in awhile, I guess you understand, with me being dead and all, but I wanted to let you know how much I miss my friends. I’ve come to see you several times, but I’m invisible now, I guess it’s for the best considering what I’m stuck in. I was able to surf the net with Madi and I LOVE Full Moon Bites. You have the best banner ever.
Pretty much everything bites about being dead, especially this dress I’m stuck in, possibly for all eternity. When I died I got these gianormous black wings, supposedly a perk for being a Seer. But Ilithyia can only pull the taffeta over my eyes for so long, I mean, I look like a giant wad of cotton candy that a herd of crows decided to nest in. Seriously, whoever decided to sacrifice me in this getup didn’t have a lick of fashion sense!

Don’t get me wrong, I love vintage, and this was my mom’s prom dress. I love my mom and I miss her, but toile should definitely be a fashion DON’T. How am I supposed to face the ShiningOnes or barguests or a basilisk wrapped up like a mummy with layers of pink lace? For Halloween I looked cute in this dress with the pink angel wings, and the halo and pearls. But seriously, a pearl necklace for all eternity?
I know you remember I was a complete fashionista, I need you try to get some items for me. I need something fierce looking. Something that matches my Crimson Chaos lipstick. Check out other heroines in books, do they wear pink chiffon? No they don’t. Just because I’m the narrator, doesn’t mean I should be sentenced to an eternity of this when I could be so much more respected in something in black leather and lace, something like this. . .

I need this Valentino dress, every it girl deserves a Valentino dress, preferably

before they die, but if not, dead and molting feathers will have to do.

I’m hoping this can be tailored to accommodate my wings and the

silver buttons match their tips.

I could really use some shoes, I lost mine in the accident, if I’d have known I was going to be barefoot this long, I would have taken biker-boys boots after he was turned into crocodile confetti. I know what you’re going to say Holly, “How am I going to be able to run during the adventure scenes in those?” But I have wings now, remember.

You remember how I love accessories and this torque could easily replace the pearls. It’s like the one Cernunnos gave Keleigh, well, except hers was made by fairies centuries ago and probably has some magic in it. She gets all the one-of-a-kind stuff, even my boyfriend! I may appear to be over that, but deep down. . . let’s just say, do buzzards give up on road kill?

I’m not a violent person, but I need something to protect myself with. When I was in the rafters of First Church trying to save Madi all I kept thinking was really need a knife. I could conceal this little blade just about anywhere and I bet Tristan or Finny could show me how to use it. Speaking of the Guardians, there is one other fashion trend that could get me some respect in the OtherWorld and Finny knows all about it—a tattoo. Tristan will probably try to stop me, but he’s always trying to tell me what to do, too bad for him I rarely listen to anything he has to say. I know I promised to dish about him, but he reads everything I write down, and all he really does is talk in cryptic circles, maybe I’ll figure him out in Book II.

Now it’s only a matter of deciding where to put the tat so it will irritate Tristan the most! I’m thinking right in between my wings at the center of my back, since he enjoys ruffling my feathers and making fun of my dress so much.
If you can located any of these items for me you can mail them to me, care of Ascension Cemetery, Salem, MA.
Holly, I guess I should give you a piece of my best advice. Remember the last time your mother stopped you before leaving the house and asked you where you thought you were going dressed like that? You might want to stop and look in the mirror, just in case you end up in a ditch somewhere in a pink chiffon gown. Did I mention, forever is a very long time?
I miss you and all my friends, please come and Like me on Facebook so I know you haven’t all forgotten me at http://www.facebook.com/TheSeers7DeadlyFairyTales

You’re Friend,

The Seer

"Salem’s always held sinister secrets. No one understands this better than a sixteen-year-old girl who dies on Halloween night and is reborn a Seer.
The Seer can’t imagine anything worse than being an invisible teenager with enormous black wings. Until she finds out she’s been sacrificed to watch over Locke’s new flame.
Locke Cavanaugh is a Druid, and part of the Order, a clandestine organization entrusted with keeping its members cloaked in the Ordinary world. Physically scarred from the accident that took his girlfriends life, Locke is searching for the OtherWorldly magic that damaged him, because only those without blemish can rule the Order. And once at the helm of the Order he has every intention of finding those responsible for her death.
On the West Coast, Keleigh Flaherty witnesses her parents’ murder by beasts that should only exist in nightmares. She is whisked off to the safety of Salem, where she learns how potent and dangerous her concealed Vate talents are. Keleigh wants to be Ordinary, but when her mother reaches out from the OtherWorld, and implores her to find a forgotten relic she’ll have to use all her ExtraOrdinary powers to locate it.
As Locke and Keleigh join forces, they unravel the Order’s involvement in the witch hysteria and murmurs of a Celtic prophecy. While Locke’s affection for Keleigh blooms, The Seer is torn between her duty to protect Keleigh, and her desire to stop Locke from making the ultimate sacrifice in order to earn Keleigh’s love . . .
But if they don’t find the witches bottle before the ShiningOnes do, someone stalking Keleigh from the shadows will take her instead and plunge all worlds into chaos."
