When his partner reappears after three years, he wonders if there is something left for them to rebuild. But the ocean isn't ready to let go of him quite yet.
There is no way anyone can read An Immovable Solitude without first looking at the book cover. If I had not already known what a wonderful author S.A. McAuley was I would have been drawn to it from that alone. It is absolutely beautiful.
The beauty of An Immovable Solitude does not end at the book cover though but covers ever page written on the inside as well.
Honestly Ido not know if I have ever read a book where the two main characters were already in a relationship when the book started. Usually in a book we are there when the two main characters first meet or before they begin a relationship.
In An Immovable Solitude Erik and Kerry are in a relationship when the book starts but Kerry is not as comfortable with being gay and open about it in South Africa as Erik is. And when a hate crime causes them to lose everything Kerry does the only thing he can think of—he leaves Erik and his sister in
It is not until 3 years later that Erik and Kerry meet back up again and though Erik is angry the spark between them is no less potent than when they first met.
An Immovable Solitude is one of those books that take you through so many emotions – joy, lust, anger, betrayal, sadness, love and more. The characters were beautifully written along with the settings that it was easy to completely immerse myself in the world S.A. McAuley created.
I had tears in my eyes more than once while reading and by the end was completely in love with Erik and Kerry. I am so glad they found their happily ever after!
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great male/male contemporary romance read. You will not be disappointed! This one is going on my must have in paperback list!
*I received a hardcover/paperback/eBook copy/ARC of this book for free to review from the author/publisher/tour site; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.
